Dead Space (2008)

SolKutTeR · Oct 23, 2026 at 6:45 PM

Abseits vom Dead Space Trilogy Projekt, arbeitet nun auch Talemann (Bekannt von seinen Resident Evil Projekten; Resident Evil 4 Remake, Resident Evil 9, Resident Evil Revelations und weitere) an einer Umsetzung für Dead Space (2008).

Leider noch ohne Download, aber coming soon.

Dead Space VR

Rendering & camera

True stereo rendering — the game renders both eyes, each from its own camera, with full 6DoF head tracking

First person from Isaac’s head; his helmet, neck and chin guard are hidden so nothing blocks your view

Render resolution up to 7680×4320, picked in the mod menu and applied with a quick game restart — the game gets 4 GB of memory for it

Brightness, contrast, sharpness and saturation shader

Runs on OpenXR with SteamVR and Meta, with native bindings for Index, Touch and Steam Frame controllers

Smooth turning without the game’s wind-up and lag, and walking straight from the stick

Menus, loading screens and cutscenes on a floating canvas

Roomscale & body

Walking around your room moves Isaac the same distance in the game

His body turns with your head, and you can walk where you look

Isaac’s own arms follow your controllers from the shoulder to the hand

Finger tracking: his fingers follow yours

Remember: Isaac can’t crouch — he can’t in the original game either

Comfort

Smooth turning with adjustable speed or snap turning (30/45/60/90°), plus a quick 180° turn

Recenter your view any time from the mod options

Disable Toxic Game Settings: one switch in the mod options keeps the game settings that don’t work in VR the way they should

HUD on Isaac

Your health and stasis sit on your right forearm — just like the RIGcom

The watch on your wrist: touch it with your finger to open the inventory

Inventory as a hologram in front of you or fixed in the room

Audio logs and video links come out of your watch

Blood on the helmet visor is hidden

Weapons & combat

Aim with the right grip, shoot with the right trigger

Alternate fire mode: click the right stick while aiming to switch — the ammo display turns blue and shows ALT, the right trigger then fires the alternate fire

Support hand: bring your left hand to the weapon and it grabs on — with two-handed aiming for long weapons like the pulse rifle

Weapon recoil with three settings — Off, Mid or Max in the mod options

Holster on your hip: tap the right grip there to put the weapon away or draw it again

Melee: swing your right controller to hit

Stomp with a tap on the right trigger

Stasis from your left hand: hold the left trigger and a force field builds up in your palm with an aiming beam, let go to fire — hold it too long and it fizzles out

Kinesis with the left grip: an orb sits in your palm, grab objects, let go to drop them or pull the left trigger to throw

Vibration for every weapon, for stasis and when you touch something

Own sounds for holstering, the inventory, the force field, the stasis shot and touching holograms

Touch the Ishimura

Doors, save stations, elevators, lockers, cabinets, the store and the bench — just touch the hologram with your hand

In the store, at the bench and at save stations Isaac and your weapon fade out and the camera holds still, so the menu stays in front of you

Controls & menu

Same bindings for Index, Touch and Steam Frame controllers (the Frame can use its D-pad directly)

Your controllers are detected automatically, with an extra correction for Meta Touch

Mod menu inside the headset, with the bindings chart built in

Diese Mod entwickelt sich scheinbar auch zu einem NativVR-Mod.

I'm ready. Hab gestern Dead Space 1 (Original nicht Remake) wieder installiert... Jetzt muss nur noch die Mod released werden.
